1. Overview
BoxHop KC ("we," "us," or "our") provides reusable plastic moving bin rentals and related services to customers in the Kansas City metropolitan area. By placing an order, reserving a voucher, or joining the waitlist through boxhopkc.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Rental Service
BoxHop KC rents clean, sanitized plastic moving bins on a short-term basis. Each rental plan includes a specified number of bins, dollies, and a rental window (the number of days between delivery and scheduled pickup). Rental windows begin on the delivery date.
- Delivery and pickup are included in all plans.
- Delivery is typically scheduled within 48 hours of your requested move date, subject to availability.
- You are responsible for having the bins accessible and ready for pickup at the agreed time and location.
- BoxHop KC currently serves select zip codes in the Kansas City metro area. Coverage may be limited during our pre-launch phase.
3. Pricing, Deposits & Refunds
Rental prices are as listed on our website at the time of booking. A refundable security deposit is collected at checkout alongside the rental fee.
- Deposit refund: Your deposit will be refunded in full within 24 hours of a clean, complete bin return, documented with a timestamped confirmation from BoxHop KC.
- Late returns: Additional daily fees apply for each day beyond your rental window (rates vary by plan). You will be notified by text before overage fees begin.
- Damaged or missing items: Costs for missing bins ($12/bin), cracked bins ($10/bin), missing lids ($5/lid), or damaged dollies ($45/dolly) will be deducted from your deposit. Any charges exceeding the deposit will be invoiced separately.
- Pickup reschedule fee: A $25 fee applies if you are unavailable at the agreed pickup window and a reschedule is required.
- Rental cancellations: Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled delivery are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours of delivery may be subject to a cancellation fee.
4. Vouchers
Gift vouchers may be purchased individually or in bulk packs. All vouchers are subject to the following terms:
- Vouchers never expire.
- Vouchers are redeemable for the Standard rental plan (18 bins, 7-day window) by default. Recipients may upgrade to the Large plan by paying a $30 upgrade fee at time of booking.
- Vouchers are non-refundable once redeemed.
- Unredeemed vouchers may be refunded within 30 days of purchase.
- Vouchers are non-transferable and may not be resold.
5. Customer Responsibilities
- You agree to use bins only for lawful household or commercial moving purposes.
- Do not use bins to transport hazardous materials, chemicals, or anything that could damage or contaminate the bins.
- You are responsible for the bins from the time of delivery until pickup is completed.
- Bins must be empty and reasonably clean at pickup. An excessive dirt or odor cleaning fee ($20) may apply at our discretion.
6. Limitation of Liability
BoxHop KC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our bins or services. Our total liability to you in connection with any rental shall not exceed the total amount you paid for that rental. We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
7. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
